BIOGRAPHY

I am from Seattle, WA. I have sketched and painted from an early age. I am a self-taught artist learning from books and workshops. Initially I began with watercolor and acrylic paints but I later found I enjoy working with oil paint the best. I am a long-time member of the EMERALD CITY ART COLLECTIVE. Our mission is to strengthen art appreciation and awareness through our art shows at local businesses and community organizations.

About my Process: My work evolves uniquely each time. I compare it to getting acquainted with a new friend. I explore how best to interpret my subject on the canvas. The best place to start is to study the shapes, color value to identify where the shadows and light areas lie with my subject. I also let my feelings guide me as well. Usually, in this process there will be something I missed. This may be a reflection of light or a subtle color shift I hadn't noticed before. I love this process because I am on my own adventure of creating and discovery. It  never gets old for me. I am truly my happiest when I am at my easel.

I use Gamblin oil paint products. The hanging hardware is attached with attention to detail so your painting will rest perfectly against the wall.

Besides art, I like to work in my garden, being in nature hiking or bicycling, cooking, traveling and practice in meditation.
