WHAT'S ON MY EASEL

A space to show my works in progress. I always have a lot of ideas floating in my brain but one does have to commit to an idea so here's where that happens.

The photo to the right is of and my older brother, Jack, and me at Christmas (a few years ago). I received this easel for Christmas from Santa when I was three years old and started out my art career finger painting.
Picture
My current project is of a long driveway flanked by tall Aspen trees during Autumn. I am using a cradled birch wood panel, 24" x 48". I took this photo last November 2024 at Lake Samamish, WA.
I had to raise the "vanishing point" of the driveway since my wood panel is longer than the reference photo. Basically, the vanishing point where the driveway vanishes from view into the shadows.

Here shown, is a cradled 30"x48" birch wood panel. I applied 2 coats of white acrylic gesso to it and let it dry.
Reference Photo
Current WIP state. It's a "long road" with this painting. I will keep at it though adding leaves and branches.
Refining things at this point. I will add more branches to the trees next.
Finished painting. I will sit with this for a week or so to see if I need to make any last changes.
